La Roche-Guyon, a village classified as one of the " Most Beautiful Villages in France ", is the idyllic setting for the 30th edition of the Fête des Plantes et de l'art de vivre au jardin. Located between Vétheuil (Val-d'Oise) and Giverny (Eure), the thousand-year-old Château de La Roche-Guyon (Val-d'Oise) and its landscaped grounds are the perfect setting to celebrate this annual event.
Verticality: 2024's flagship theme
At La Roche-Guyon, elevation is omnipresent, from the bank of the Seine to the top of the keep, from the vegetable garden to the moat, from the fortified enclosure to the castle walls. Daphné Charles-Le Franc encourages exhibitors and visitors to explore the notion of verticality in green spaces. A multitude of plants, some clinging to the crevices of stones and rocks, leaning against walls or trellises, or even climbing to the tops of trees, incite us to lift our eyes to the sky, follow suspended fragrances or savor exquisite fruits. These include wisteria, clematis, jasmine, climbing roses, ipomoea, ferns, sedums, mosses, vines, kiwais and other shrubs, climbers and vines.
In the Stables, you'll find creations by artists and craftsmen inspired by Nature, reference books and new releases, conferences and book signings with authors. Guided tours of the Potager-fruitier du Château de La Roche-Guyon, created in 1697 and awarded the "Jardin remarquable" label in 2011, are also available. The garden's produce has been certified organic since 2013.
The event will take place on Saturday May 4 and Sunday May 5, 2024, from 10am to 7pm (ticket office closes 1h before). Admission is €8 and free for under-18s.
