Initiated already 5 years ago, Palace Day is back this Sunday July 19, 2020. For a day, palaces all over Europe and especially those found in Ile de France and their surroundings, belonging to the European Royal Residences (ARRE), are on social networks to share their stories, cultures and heritages.
Every year, a theme is given, and every place bent over backwards thanks to the participation of the internet users on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. They all are invited to post their tour memories with the following hashtag #PalaceDay. It’s for everyone, and the occasion to discover anecdotes and pictures of history-filled venues.
After royal gastronomy two years ago, gardens last year, this year’s theme is Music. Music holds an valuable place in Royal courts. Thanks to famous composers such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart who will travel European between 1763 and 1766, visiting European royal courts, the great shows organized for royal events, representing music in paintings, and so on, music is a leisure, an art, as well as a symbol of power, or a tool to show one's wealth and prestige. And still today, music is at the heart of the royal houses!.
