A veritable land of Impressionism, the Oise valley is brimming with charming villages that have inspired so many painters and artists, such as Daubigny, Van Gogh and Pissarro. Today, these marvellous rural landscapes can be found in some of the world's greatest museums, but why not return to their roots and head straight to Pontoise, Auvers-sur-Oise orIsle-Adam for a festival this autumn?
For two months, from October 1 to November 30, 2023, these three towns will be celebrating the third edition ofAutomne impressionniste, with a host of festivities for all ages. Between guinguette cruises, hikes, art workshops, concerts and exhibitions, some fifty free activities await you to marvel at, just a few kilometers from the capital.
Three exhibitions running until 2024 have been added to the program. The Musée Daubigny celebrates the 170th anniversary of Vincent van Gogh's birth, with a collection of works by other painters he admired, based on correspondence with his brother. The Musée Louis Senlecq focuses on the artists Louis-Marie Lemaire and Henri Vergé-Sarrat, as well as the figure of the child and animal representation. At the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire Pissarro, the museum's (belated) 40th anniversary will be celebrated with a behind-the-scenes look at its history.
This dance, circus and shadow theater show by Compagnie Circo Criollo takes up the work of three Impressionist painters: Renoir, Monet and Degas.

Depart from l'Isle-Adam for a festive cruise on the River Oise through Auvers to Pontoise, in the guinguette spirit of the Impressionist era.
