Contrary to popular belief, the Seine-Saint-Denis département is full of little cultural nuggets waiting to be discovered and lush green paths to be explored. La Grande Rando is a walk of almost 14 kilometers, organized over the past seven years to take you over the heights of the towns of Montreuil, Romainville, Noisy-le-Sec and Les Lilas. On September 28, 2025, you can choose between several departures from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., following in the footsteps of the Le Grand Chemin development project, the green loop of eastern Paris.
If you do the whole route, you'll start at the lookout point of Romainville town hall and cross the Corniche des Forts park to arrive at the foot of the TDF Tower in Romainville, in the commune of Les Lilas. Afterwards, the tour moves on to Le Pré Saint-Gervais, with its beautiful garden city. Picnic at the Parc Maurice et Josette Audin in Bagnolet after a 3-hour walk, where you'll need to bring your own snacks!
We resume our walk towards two new developments, rue Sadi-Carnot and rue Molière/avenue de la Dhuys, with the discovery of a number of projects, notably the covering of the A3 freeway. On to La Noue and Parc Jean Moulin Les Guilands, before turning off towards Montreuil and its futuristic conservatory, freshly renovated and modernized to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026.
You can then climb back up the plateau to the heights of Montreuil, where you'll find an immense green setting: the historic murs à pêches. End this epic journey on the roof of Mozinor, 1km from the new La Dhuys station on line 11, exceptionally accessible on this occasion with an artistic surprise.
It's a great way to discover theevolution of these parks and sites, which are set to change even further between now and 2030, when the Grand Chemin is expected to cover 55 kilometers! You can take part in only part of the hike if you prefer to walk a little less, in the morning or afternoon only.
