The RATP network continues to expand in Greater Paris. After the extension of line 12 to the north and line 4 to the south, and with the extension of line 14 to Orly still to come, all eyes are now on line 11. At present, this line - the shortest in the network - runs between Châtelet and Porte des Lilas, and has just 13 stations. But in a few days' time, 6 new stations will be added to line 11. The line is to be extended 6km to the east of Paris, to Rosny-sous-Bois in Seine-Saint-Denis.
And the new trains will be put into service soon. The first tests were carried out on October 5, 2022. This was an opportunity to ensure the solidity of the viaduct that will house the overhead trains. In the middle of this 600-meter-long viaduct is the future Coteaux-Beauclair overhead station, which will serve the Domus shopping center and the Parc des Guillaumes.
But when can passengers expect to see these new stations? When will the line 11 extension be inaugurated? In a message posted on its social networks on May 13, RATP lifted the veil on the official opening date of this eastward extension. It will be Thursday June 13, 2024.
In the meantime, the famous"white run", i.e. the movement of trains without passengers, has begun and is continuing.
From June 13, 2024, the 6 km extension of line 11 will welcome its first passengers. Rosny-Bois-Perrier will become the new terminus, and 5 other stations will be added.
The Serge Gainsbourg station is located in Les Lilas. Two stations will serve this commune of Seine-Saint-Denis. The main access will be near Square Henri Dunant, while the secondary access will be at Rue de la Liberté.
With the opening of the Place Carnot station, Parisians will be able to reach the République station from Romainville in 14 minutes (compared with 28 today). The Place Carnot station will be the only one in the commune. Located at Place Carnot, it will offer a connection with tramway T1.
The Montreuil-Hôpital station is located at the foot of the Centre Hospitalier Intercommunal André Grégoire in Montreuil (the region's largest hospital), just opposite the town of Noisy-le-Sec.
Perched on the edge of the Romainville plateau, La Dhuys station is located between avenue Gabriel Péri and rue de La Dhuys. The works also include the creation of a main access not far from ruelle Boissière and a secondary access on boulevard de la Boissière, in Montreuil.
The Côteaux-Beauclair aerial station is located at the level of the famous viaduct, 600 metres long. "This viaduct is the symbol of the technical and architectural effort that went into designing the project," explains RATP. The future station will serve the Domus shopping center, as well as the Parc des Guillaumes.
