This automatic metro line is very popular with Parisians. Line 14, which currently runs from Mairie de Saint-Ouen to Olympiades, will be extended in 2024.
In detail, line 14 of the Paris metro is to be extended to Saint-Denis - Pleyel station, in the north of the capital. In the south, the line will be extendedas far as Orly airport. To get there, metro line 14 will pass through Hôpital Bicêtre, then the towns of Villejuif, L'Haÿ-les-Roses, Chevilly-Larue and Thiais.
But choosing the names of these future metro stations has raised a number of questions, and caused some discord between IDFM and certain elected officials. On Monday September 19, 2022, Île-de-France Mobilités, the regional transport authority, finally unveiled the final names chosen for these future new stops. There are 8 in all.
On the north side, users will soon discover"Saint-Denis - Pleyel", the new terminus in the Pleyel district of Saint-Denis. On the south side, line 14 of the Paris metro will stop in 2024 at"Maison-Blanche","Hôpital Bicêtre", "Villejuif - Gustave-Roussy","L'Haÿ-les-Roses","Chevilly-Larue (Marché International)" and"Thiais-Orly (Pont de Rungis)", before alighting at the new terminus,"Aéroport d'Orly".

As a reminder, this summer Île-de-France Mobilités invited Parisians to vote for the names of four new stations on line 14 of the metro. For example, for the Saint-Denis Pleyel station, they could choose between "Saint-Denis Pleyel", "Carrefour Pleyel" or "Ignace Pleyel". On the south side, they could vote for "Kremlin-Bicêtre Hôpital" or "Hôpital Bicêtre". As for the Villejuif Institut Gustave Roussy station, the choice was between "Villejuif - Gustave Roussy", "Parc des Hautes-Bruyères", in reference to the nearby departmental park, and "Campus Grand Parc".
In Val-de-Marne, the choice was more complicated, and discussions were held between IDFM and the elected representatives of Chevilly-Larue, Thiais and then L'Haÿ-les-Roses. In the end,"L'Haÿ-les-Roses","Chevilly-Larue (Marché International)" and"Thiais-Orly (Pont de Rungis)" were chosen.
