In anticipation of the surge in metro and RER ticket prices during the Paris Olympic Games, Valérie Pécresse, President of IDFM, is offering promotions to motivate Parisians to opt for the Liberté + pass. This strategy aims to offer an economical alternative to the temporary increase in fares.
The promotional offer is based on a referral system. Current subscribers who sponsor a new subscriber before July 29, 2024, will receive 5 free journeys to use in August. This marketing mechanism encourages users to invite others to take out a Liberté + subscription, rewarding the sponsor with free journeys.
To subscribe to Liberté +, all you have to do is register and provide your bank details. This subscription allows you to travel on the IDFM network at the single fare of 1.73 euros per journey instead of 4 euros during the Olympic Games, with direct debit at the end of the month. It also eliminates the need to top up your card every month.
Current subscribers have until July 29 to sponsor up to 5 new subscribers, obtaining up to 25 free rides (five rides per referral). As a welcome gift, new subscribers will also receive 5 free rides in August. This offer represents a potential saving of 43.25 euros for sponsors who succeed in convincing five godchildren.
From July 20, the price of a T+ ticket will rise from 2.15 euros to 4 euros, and that of a book of 10 tickets from 17.35 euros to 32 euros. These prices will remain in force until September 8, coinciding with the Olympic Games. This sponsorship offer is therefore an opportunity to reduce transport costs during this period.
To benefit from this promotion, subscribers must share their referral code with their friends and family before July 29. Details of this operation and the tutorial are available on theÎle-de-France Mobilités website.
In short, this sponsorship initiative by IDFM and Valérie Pécresse aims to mitigate the financial impact of the temporary increase in transport fares during the Olympic Games, while encouraging the adoption of the Liberté + pass. A welcome measure for Ile-de-France transport users during this summer period, even if many will be choosing to go on vacation or telecommute.
