Reopening scheduled for September 3, 2024 after the annual vacation
This studio is the Ali Baba's cave of Janis, a stylist and model-maker by profession, who has decided to open her own temple of creation in September 2023 in the city where she has lived for over fifteen years. Just a three-minute walk from Romainville-Carnot station, one of the new stations opened following the extension of line 11, the Fe.Mè DIY café is the creative coffeeshop to discover in the city.
Pep's decoration, shimmering colors on the walls, colorful shelves: here, Janis sees life in pink, blue and white, and with her, the curious come to learn about crochet, embroidery, knitting, sewing, mosaics, tufting... Ages 4 to 99. "During the confinements, I was locked up and pregnant", says the young mother, "I got my sewing machine out again, and I wasn't the only one: many of us took up creative hobbies again during this period".
She was already giving sewing classes - thanks to her profession in the fashion world - and was thinking of a place where you could stock up on haberdashery materials, take Do It Yourself (DIY) classes , take part in a knitting session where a professional could help you with your work, chat and meet new people over a few hours of crochet... all with the help of Adeline, the knitting expert, and Coralie, who runs the children's workshops (drawing, modeling, crochet). All accompanied by Adeline, the knitting expert, and Coralie, who runs the children's workshops (drawing, modeling, crochet).
Prices start at €35 per workshop (€10 for the knitting café), with intensive courses available over several days (or half-days) for larger projects. The big plus at Fe.Mè is certainly the coffee section: we recommend you try one of the lattes on offer - the pink for a Barbie pink latte, the Golden for a golden yellow with a hint of turmeric, or the classic coffee latte - or opt for a more classic tea, coffee or chocolate.
All drinks are available with plant milk (almond, oat at no extra charge) or cow's milk: when you take a workshop, the drink is included! For a gourmet break, don't miss the excellent homemade cookies - dark chocolate chips with a hint of fleur de sel - prepared by Janis's sister, a professional caterer.
There's also a section showcasing designers from the Paris region, a nugget of beautiful handmade gift ideas: ceramics, baby accessories, jewelry, painting... In short, if you're looking for a great place to enjoy a snack with the kids, or a place to learn the art of sewing or knitting, head for Fe.Mè, where you'll be welcomed with open arms!
