Pigeon Coq, the DIY workshop to make your own unique upcycled leather handbag

Rue d'Alexandrie is a temple to DIY, where you can easily spend the whole day, since the workshop is nestled right next to Mazette, the creative laboratory that lets you create endlessly! At Pigeon Coq, the focus is on leather, with sessions between 2h30 and 4h, to learn how to make your own handbags and original accessories.

Are you having trouble finding an inexpensive purse or wallet in your style in the shops? Then why not make your own? In addition to a certain pride when someone asks you where you bought it, the quality of the leather is not diminished - on the contrary - and the price is much lower than in a store. Juliette, the concept's creator, also wanted to avoid overproduction and overconsumption by upcycling. Every cut on site is reused, and materials are recovered from the leather stocks of major French fashion houses.

In a small group, with four or five other people who are often just as inexperienced as you are, you'll be able to choose the color and material of your leather and learn a whole host of techniques, such as saddle stitch, a stitch used only at Hermès (and made more accessible all the same)! Several leather workshops are available, depending on your time and the accessory you'd like to make. Large or small bags, spectacle cases, card holders, belts - the choice is yours, based on a wide range of models.

We can assure you, as a true sewing novice, the workshop is easily achievable! With a little aperitif or snack, depending on the time of day, you take your time, concentrate, make little holes, fight with a needle and have fun! You can personalize your accessory to make it one-of-a-kind, and if you can't make it to the workshop, DIY boxes are available for workshops at home, from 69 to 179 euros. Let's get started!
