In addition to its traditional Honey Festival and Wool Festival, the Parc Georges-Valbon, located in the town of La Courneuve in Seine-Saint-Denis, invites you to take part in an unusual agricultural event on Sunday, June 9, 2024, from 10am to 12pm.
Have you ever attended a hay-making event? Held every year in June, haymaking is the act of "making hay". So, to help you discover this agricultural activity carried out in the hay fields - the grass being collected to be dried and stored, in order to feed the flocks - theClinamen association invites you to come and handle a scythe and learn the gestures needed to harvest the grass afterwards. The hay is then used to feed the association's flock of sheep, which graze in the Parc Georges-Valbon throughout the year.
To take part in the haymaking event at Parc Georges-Valbon, meet in front of the ping-pong tables next to the large lake. All the activities on offer that day are free of charge and require no prior registration. With the kids, it's the ideal way to discover the world of agriculture, followed by a lovely stroll around the park. Are we going to discover haymowing in the Parc de la Courneuve on June 9?
