Not far from the banks of the Seine, in Saint-Ouen, the Grand Parc des Docks contrasts with the urban landscape of the neighborhood. Rather like the Martin Luther King Park in the 17th arrondissement, this green space offers freshness, nature and wide paths to let off steam.
With its large lawns accessible all year round, giant rainbow and small pond, Parc des Docks offers a bubble of nature in the middle of the city, where you can chill out all afternoon. Because of its location (at the heart of a new eco-district), the park benefits from a number of committed initiatives, including shared gardens and beehives (which produce 400 kg of honey every year!) and a large educational greenhouse, the Serre Wangari, which offers free workshops for young and old on the environment and gardening.
For sports enthusiasts, there's a skateboarding and rollerblading area open all day long, and the park's beautiful paths are ideal for jogging! From time to time, and particularly during theÉté Audonien ( Saint-Ouen's summer program) or Saint-Ouen-sur-Scène, the park'sopen-air amphitheatre hosts outdoor projections, shows, fireworks... Not forgetting the children's play areas: with a huge slide and facilities adapted to the little ones, the place is ideal (coupled with the huge lawns) for a family afternoon in the park!
You'll also find the Château de Saint-Ouen: built in the 19th century, it is sometimes visited during special events. How about a visit to the Grand Parc des Docks, just outside Paris, in the town of Saint-Ouen?
