Formerly known as Parc de la Turlure, Parc Marcel Bleustein Blanchet is a design by architect Grumbach that recalls theformer Moulin de la Turlure at the corner of Rue de la Bonne and Rue du Chevalier de la Barre. After loyal service from 1770 to 1820, the mill was demolished, before giving its name to the park until 2004.
This terraced garden not only offers a beautiful, unobstructed view over eastern Paris, but also features wisteria in full bloom, as well as vines... Each terrace has its own name, including the Grand Salon, where you can admire wisteria in bloom, and the Salon Vert, appreciated for its immense lawn surrounded by maples and plane trees, which occasionally hosts shows in its open-air amphitheatre. A little further down the road, the children's play areas feature two climbing walls, and next to them, a pétanque court that is particularly popular with cochonet aficionados.
In 2004, the Turlure park, named after its past, took the name of Marcel Bleustein Blanchet, a communicator who created the very first advertising agency in 1930, using radio as an advertising medium. During the war, Bleustein Blanchet distinguished himself by becoming a Free French pilot in the French resistance network.
The Marcel Bleustein Blanchet park is a great place to stroll, stroll with the family, picnic in fine weather or read in the sun in summer! After a visit to Sacré-Coeur, Square Louis Michel (below the church) or a stroll in Montmartre, make a detour to this lovely park, which deserves it!
