Rendez-vous aux jardins, is the perfect chance to discover stunning gardens, breathtaking parks, and sumptuous green spaces, each more beautiful than the last. A must-attend for nature lovers, art and history enthusiasts, taking place from June 5–7, 2026 in Paris and Île-de-France. The program features guided tours, cultural activities, and nature-filled happenings!
The garden at the Musée Eugène Delacroix, which you discover after passing through the painter's last home, is one of the museum's most important features, alongside the rooms in the apartment and studio. Indeed, the painter had chosen his apartment on rue Fürstenberg for this "small garden which he could enjoy exclusively, with the possibility of building a studio there"!
Although we know that Delacroix had "restored the soil, pruned and trimmed the existing beds and vines, created flower beds lined with thyme and planted a large number of various rose bushes, redcurrants, raspberry bushes and several trees" thanks to a rediscovered invoice, the garden has since been renovated. Pierre Bonnaure, head gardener at the Tuileries, was able to renovate the garden in 2012 to give it shimmering colors by planting generous blooming flowers, as close as possible to Eugène Delacroix's tastes, thanks to the painter's writings.
The Delacroix Museum invites you to Paris's most secret garden, exploring the theme "The View."
