It's well known that, as well as being delicious, coconut quenches thirst and reduces feelings of satiety. So, during the summer, many people flock to pasteurized coconut water. But for a taste of real coconut, a new address has just opened in Paris! Head for the Montorgueil district to discover Jonjon's Cocobar.
Behind this very first Parisian Cocobar is the Parisian brand Jonjon's Coconuts, which for the past 3 years has been creating event and pop-up coconut bars (trade shows, private events, festivals...) . At the beginning of June 2018, Jonjon's Coconuts therefore launched its first takeaway by opening this small, colorful Californian-looking stall, adjoining the Sentier metro exit.
For a guaranteed trip under the sun, Jonjon's Cocobar waiters open fresh coconuts right before your eyes, using their coco opener. From Thailand, they are treated with respect and "cruelty free".
A la carte? The must-have cocoshakes (coconut-based smoothies), prepared in a minute, with original, fruity and healthy flavours, to be tasted directly from the coconut using a biodegradable paper straw and a spoon.
We were lucky enough to be able to taste some, and we loved the"Coco Black Mamba" made with coconut water, coconut flesh, banana, lime, activated charcoal and agave syrup. Incredibly thirst-quenching and truly nourishing, we fell in love with the blend of flavors and the coconut flesh to scrape off and finish with a teaspoon!
Other best-selling original cocoshakes include"Coco Green Matcha" with coconut water, coconut flesh, matcha, lemon juice, pepper and agave syrup, and"Coco Tiger" with coconut water, coconut flesh, pineapple and agave syrup.
Jonjon's Cocobar also offers signature cocoshakes , including the excellent"Coco Pink Suits You" with coconut water, coconut flesh, raspberries, strawberries, ginger essence, lime and agave syrup.
For gourmands, opt for"Coco Choco" with cacco seeds, raw cocoa powder, banana and agave syrup.
Or succumb to the " Coco Tigre Suprême " with water and fresh coconut flesh, pineapple, espresso and coffee beans.
Jonjon's Cocobar also offers coffees, teas and spiced lattes, as well as homemade sweet snacks such as banana bread, coconut granola yoghurt, matcha tea cookies and vegan and gluten-free muffins.
So, are you ready for a coconut cure this summer?
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
