For fans of cream puffs, it is impossible to miss Popelini. Created in 2011, this pastry shop has since conquered the capital and now has 5 locations in the Paris region. So, why does this spot make us so crazy about its choux? You'll soon understand.
The name, Popelini, is a reference to the Italian-born cook of Queen Catherine de Medici, known as the inventor of choux pastry in the 16th century. Today, the eponymous pastry house treats all Parisians with ultra-gourmet recipes.
We will find relatively classic flavors, including pistachio, vanilla, coffee, salted butter caramel, lemon, dark chocolate or praline. But Popelini also revisits cabbage with less conventional flavors. Among the most gourmet recipes are the Gianduja Nougat, the Milk Chocolate & Peanut or the Cabbage Apple Tatin. If you prefer fruity flavors then you will probably be tempted by the orange blossom version, the rose cabbage with raspberry confit or the passion fruit cabbage. As you can see, there is something for everyone here!
