If you've never considered staying near the Place d'Italie during your stay in Paris, theHotel Rosalie may well make you reconsider your preconceptions. Located on a small street lined with plane trees, just a short distance from this bustling square in the capital's 13th arrondissement, the hotel is a veritable island of calm and serenity.
Once you've passed through the doorway with its statues reminiscent of Florentine palaces, the4-star establishment offers a succession of verdant spaces, from the basement where you'll find a discreet patio surrounded by trees and green plants, to the third floor where you'll find a sunny rooftop terrace.
It's quite simple: inside and out (the rooms are perfectly soundproofed , and even with the windows open, silence is the order of the day), it's impossible to feel like you're in Paris. What relaxation, and whatspace!Hotel Rosalie boasts 60 opulent rooms, without overdoing it, with everything you need for a quality night's sleep.
The bedding is top-notch, the decor is bucolic (grass-green carpet, floral tapestry), the view of Paris from the room, from the Eiffel Tower to the Sacré Coeur and the dome of the Invalides, is enough to put glitter in the eyes, while the attentive team knows how to meet every need.
To the sound of the guitar, played live by a lively guitarist, with the hotel's mascot at our feet (Rosalie by name, a charming little ginger cat who's not at all shy), we discover the menu of plant-based cocktails, which are bloody well executed by the head bartender, who prepares all his own concoctions - syrups, shrubs, etc. - as well as a wide range of cocktails.
Sip, for example, the Le Roi Soleil cocktail (strawberry and basil house-infused gin, Chambord liqueur, strawberry and hibiscus house syrup, mint, prosecco; €14) or the Capucine cocktail (vodka, aperol, campari, Napoleon mandarin liqueur, bitter orange peel and cloves house syrup, orange juice, house tonic; €14).
Cocktails are accompanied by a menu of homemade finger foods - hummus (10€), sundried tomato and green olive tapenade (9€), broccoli guacamole (10€), stracciatella di burrata (14€) - prepared withorganic and local ingredients. The same goes for breakfast, from 7 to 11 a.m., which features only the finest products, most of them organic and labelled .
A quiet, leafy address for timeless moments away from the hectic pace of the city.
