Welcome to the Hotel Les Théâtres, just off the Rue du Faubourg St Denis, a stone's throw from the hustle and bustle of the Grands Magasins and theaters. Hence the obvious theme! Architects Sandrine Gouin and Elsa Bartolone were inspired by Molière, Feydeau and Cocteau to take guests on a journey to the heart of the 6th art!
Right from the reception area, adorned with red velvet upholstery like an actor's dressing room, you're plunged into a theatrical atmosphere. The corridors are lined with reproductions of period posters.
Once past the reception desk, you find yourself in a veritable theater café in the lobby. Here, you'll find a magnificent zinc bar with velvet railing and high stools, where youcan pour yourself a drink on the honesty bar principle. With red velvet curtains, black wooden chairs upholstered in the same color and a Tief chandelier sourced from a theater, breakfast is also served here.
If you're in the mood to brush up on your classics, help yourself to the large library! If you're not into literature, you can always enjoy the hammam in the basement!
On each of the 7 floors, you'll discover 38 rooms, each with its own distinctive character: an atypical atmosphere on the mezzanine floor, a hidden terrace overlooking the Grands Boulevards, a view over the rooftops of Paris...
There are 3 styles of room, according to 3 men of the stage:
The 12 Molière rooms are a tribute to the most famous playwright of 17th-century French literature. The atmosphere is inspired by the playwright's humor and delicacy, right down to the smallest detail: parquet flooring, golden drapes and wallpaper, and chairs in
red velvet add a touch of royalty to these rooms, a nod to the era of the Sun King.
Reproductions of stage productions on the headboards and light fixtures projecting shadows on the walls add to the room's theatrical feel, inviting you to reinvent the classics, from
"Fourberies de Scapin" to "Malade Imaginaire"!
Baroque and original style for these 12 rooms dedicated to the master of Vaudeville. The architects combined the authenticity and charm of 19th-century rooms with the author's theatrical flair, using imitation worn wallpaper and elaborate red and black furnishings. The headboard features period silhouettes like a cameo, while the wing-shaped cushions are a nod to the play "Le Dindon".
Jean Cocteau defined himself above all as a poet. The 14 rooms in
have been designed with poetry in mind. The architects were inspired by Cocteau's close friendship with decorator Madeleine Castaing. She was the first to dare the subtle mix of leopard-print carpeting and the famous "Bleu Castaing" color. But also a masterly reproduction of the artist at the head of the bed. The author's style can also be seen in every detail, from the lithographs on the walls to the sconces in the shape of an outstretched hand inspired by the film Beauty and the Beast.
4rooms have lovely terraces overlooking the rooftops of Paris.
It's a lovely hotel where you can enjoy being the actor, if you like!
