Italian cuisine continues to inspire! The proof is in the pudding, as a new restaurant featuring gastronomy from the land of Dolce Vita has just opened in the capital.
Named The Brooklyn Pizzeria, this new establishment opened its doors at the beginning of September 2018 in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, just a few steps from Place de La Bastille.
Behind The Brooklyn Pizzeria is Garry Dorr, already behind the success of The Little Italy, in the 17th.
And for this new Parisian address, Garry Dorr has spared no expense. After a very warm and smiling welcome from a 100% transalpine team with a lilting accent, you're in for a real treat with a decor that brilliantly recaptures the codes of the industrial spirit of New York's southern districts. Red brick walls, exposed pipes and waxed concrete under flattering lighting - it's a real trip! We also love the impressive pizza oven at the entrance to the restaurant, customized with an enormous skull and crossbones. Skulls are also found on several lamp posts.
The restaurant offers a choice of different seating areas and has 250 seats, including 120 on the terrace - a splendid green terrace which will be heated as soon as the first cold days arrive.
Once you've settled in, you'll discover The Brooklyn Pizzeria's menu, which is rich and varied, with a touch of humor thrown in for good measure. We'll let you be surprised...
To dazzle its customers' taste buds, The Brooklyn Pizzeria works with extremely well-sourced Italian products(even the flour is Italian), all in the spirit of a Trattoria. And you can feel it in the plates, like this enormous €17 mixed board featuring 24-month DOP parma ham, truffle and fennel sausages, DOP mortadella, creamy burratina and grilled vegetables. A real treat to be shared without moderation!
The Mafaldine with fresh Molise truffle (€18) is an explosion of flavors from the very first bite, with perfectly cooked homemade pasta, real slices of truffle delicately placed on the pasta, 36-month DOP parmesan and Fior di latte DOP mozza, all served in an imposing copper pan. A guaranteed favorite!
As for the pizzas, Neapolitan of course, we opt for and immediately fall for the"Burratissima Véronique André" with its DOP San Marzano tomatoes, excellent creamy burrata, arugula and basil. There's no doubt about it, Naples has made itself at home on our plates.
And if you're wondering which pizza is the most popular of the 13 creations? Head for the heart-shaped"Parma Big Love", made with San Marzano DOP tomatoes, Fior di latte DOP mozza, 24-month Parma DOP, DOP pecorino and garden basil!
And The Brooklyn Pizzeria also caters for small budgets, offering a genuine Margherita pizza for just €4!
As for the rest, the restaurant offers Risotto on its menu, as well as other great Italian classics such as antipasti.
To finish on a sweet note, you can choose between a nutella pizzeta, a large profiterole served in its own pan, or Tiramisu Classico served with a large spoon! We opted for the excellent, gourmet Sicilian pistachio Tiramisu (€8), followed by a delicious homemade Piedmont hazelnut ice cream (€4)!
Homemade Piedmont hazelnut ice cream
And to accompany all these beautiful and delicious dishes, The Brooklyn Pizzeria invites lovers of clever beverages to enjoy its classic Spritz, or its surprising and thirst-quenching Spritz with elderflower liqueur.
You'll come away from the evening with a smile on your face and your taste buds delighted by this generous, tasty 100% Italian cuisine and its furiously industrial decor, offering a totally unique experience that's an absolute must!
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
