Lovers of Italian cuisine once again meet at La Massara, a Sicilian pizzeria in the 3rd arrondissement, a stone's throw from République. An opportunity to savor delicious pizzas on the large terrace and to travel to Catania, Palermo or Syracuse for lunch or dinner.

A Sicilian pizzeria in the rules of the art... This is what La Massara, an Italian restaurant in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, near the Place de la République, offers again. An establishment located just in front of Norma, another restaurant belonging to the owner of La Massara, Francesco Lombardo.

A pizzeria dedicated here to his grandfather, the poet Giuseppe Nicolosi Scandurra, and to the love of his life, Rusidda, the famous "massara" mentioned in the name . For the record, the "massara" was"the first lady of the masseries, agricultural farms in Sicily". She was in charge of organizing the harvests as well as the meals of the workers of the farm. A beautiful tribute that also reflects the island's cuisine and tradition. And a pizzeria that, just like Norma, offers a lot of products directly from Italy, like its burrata, but also its ham, its cheese or its pistachios, specialties of Sicily.

A restaurant that the editors were able to test and particularly liked. Beyond the excellence of the cuisine, the products are carefully selected and of a rare finesse, for pasta dishes, cold cuts or pizzas in tune, with the Sicilian touch in addition. We let ourselves be tempted by thebruschette with Parma ham aged 16 months, mozzarella di buffala, cherry tomatoes and basil for a good start, then we can continue with a pizza brontese, based on parmesan and pistachios. A delight! For the dessert, we rather lean for a Limoncello sorbet, pleasant during strong summer heats.

In short, La Massara is THE ideal spot to escape to Sicily for lunch or dinner... Shall we book, friends?

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
