We've already mentioned theAuberge des 3 Hameaux for its fantastic brunch, which is unrivalled in terms of value for money. Yes, but a brunch once a month is just the thing for the gourmands in us. That said, the restaurant itself is well worth a visit, and as it's open from Wednesday to Sunday, lunchtime and evening (except one Sunday a month for brunch, as you'll have gathered), there's plenty of opportunity to treat yourself.
Just a stone's throw from the Château de Breteuil, the Auberge des 3 Hameaux is a paradise for walkers passing through the Vallée de Chevreuse. This former inn, closed since 1965, has been restored to its former glory thanks to an ambitious renovation project launched by Choisel town council in 2017. Managed since 2021 by Soazig Seguis, this address now offers three distinct experiences: a restaurant, a tearoom, and charming accommodation.
A short, original menu, fresh, local produce, that's what we're looking for. Forget burgers and pizzas, this is a place for authentic dishes such as wild boar confit with kale and figs, or lean meats delicately flavored with coffee. Flavors change with the seasons, so you'll never run out of new discoveries. Even the youngest gourmets are not forgotten: they can enjoy the same dishes as their parents, in adapted portions.
At the same time, the tea room welcomes hikers and cyclists passing through on the Véloscénie, the itinerary linking Paris to Mont-Saint-Michel. In winter, you can sit by the fire; in summer, you can enjoy homemade sweets in the shade of the sophora tree. To extend this bucolic interlude, the inn also offers a gîte for six people and a comfortable chambre d'hôte.
Soazig Seguis' commitment goes far beyond gastronomy. Driven by a deep-seated desire to recreate social ties and promote responsible practices, she favors made-in-France materials for decoration, organic products for cleaning, and homemade dishes. An educational vegetable garden and composting facility complete this sustainable approach. At theAuberge des 3 Hameaux, you'll feel right at home. Cocooned in the warmth of winter, or on the terrace facing the large garden in summer, this restaurant is a true paradise for young and old alike.
The menu, both affordable and creative, is an invitation to discover unique flavor combinations. After a generous appetizer whose composition we won't reveal to you, why not start with the "Douceur des Alpes", a raclette emulsion combined with hash browns and garlic sausage? Grilled octopus and vegetable curry are also on the menu.
And to end on a high note, let yourself be surprised by the grapefruit tart with almond mousse and grapefruit sorbet, very lightly sweetened to bring out the taste of the fruit.
Expect to pay around €40 for an à la carte starter+main course+dessert. At lunchtime on weekdays, take advantage of affordable menus ranging from €22 for starter+main course to €26 for the whole meal.
L'Auberge des 3 Hameaux is not just a place to eat well; it's a place to feel good, in harmony with nature and the history of the place. To guarantee your table, remember to book in advance, as they are prized for their conviviality and excellent value for money.
