On July 14, 1789, the Revolutionaries captured the Bastille prison in Paris, bringing down one of the symbols of royal power. This day has gone down in history, and is commemorated today in every French commune. On Friday, July 14, 2023, in Nemours, much happier events are planned to bring the population together.
To celebrate the national holiday, the Seine-et-Marne town is inviting residents to get together for an evening open to all. The program includes a Republican Banquet aperitif and live music in Rue Sanson, near the château-museum. At 11 p.m., the curious are invited to gather on the banks of the Loing to admire the fireworks, shot over the water.
Nemours is located near Fontainebleau, on the banks of the Loing river. The town is home to many protected natural areas, due to their remarkable characteristics and biodiversity. This pretty corner of Seine-et-Marne, inhabited since prehistoric times, is also home to a number of monuments and cultural sites that bear witness to the region's rich history. Don't hesitate to visit the town in between events and festivals!
In short, the perfect opportunity to spend a superb evening with family and friends... Shall we go?
