France's national holiday is officially celebrated on July 14. It's one of the highlights of the summer, and with good reason: traditional festive events are held all over the country! To the delight of young and old alike, the festivities take place at the bals populaires and bals des pompiers, and at nightfall, the sky is filled with fireworks.
Among the must-see celebrations on this public holiday are, of course, the impressive military parade down the Champs Elysées and the emblematic fireworks display from the Eiffel Tower. And while the capital is sure to attract plenty of attention on this festive day, its region is not to be outdone: all over the Île-de-France region, communes are taking it in turns to unveil their programs, generally spread between July 13 and 14, 2024.
If you're in the 91 region or would like to take advantage of this holiday to discoverEssonne, why not make a stopover in Viry-Chatillon ? Located just south of Paris, this lively commune boasts a fine heritage, with numerous historical features that give the area an anachronistic feel. Examples include the Saint-Denis washhouse, the Viry mill, theVanne and Loing aqueduct and the former Port-Aviation hotel.
It's a great way to enjoy the Fête Nationale 2024 festivities in Viry-Chatillon, at the Stade Guy Moquet!
