So, some scientists and experts fear the arrival of the Indian variant in France. So far, no case of this “double mutant” has been detected in the country, although it has been spotted in the United Kingdom, Germany, and even Italy already.

According to infectious disease specialist Karine Lacombe, “it is obvious that this variant will arrive, it is a matter of days and it is probably already in France”, she told France Info this April 21, 2021.
“It notably has two mutations on the Spike protein. It can resist to vaccine or therapies”, she added.
This April 21, government spokesman Gabriel Attal announced India was added to the list of countries travelers from are already submitted to compulsory self-isolation period, namely Brazil, Chile, Argentina, and South Africa.
