Discover the medieval world of the Tour Jean-Sans-Peur during the Journées du Patrimoine 2024 in Paris on the weekend of September 21 and 22, 2024.

For the 40th edition of the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days), the capital is offering a whole host of events to suit all tastes and interests! If you're a fan of machinery, head for the Eiffel Tower. Want to learn more about horses? You'll find what you're looking for at Versailles! For mostly free visits, take advantage of the weekend of September 21 and 22, 2024 throughout the Ile-de-France region.

For fans of the Middle Ages, head to the Tour Jean-Sans-Peur in Paris's 2nd arrondissement for a plunge into medieval Paris. Built at the height of the Hundred Years' War, it is one of the last perfectly preserved traces of the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy in Paris. Its magnificent staircase, topped by a sculpted vault unique in France, and its five floors make it an exceptional place to (re)discover the Middle Ages. An experience made all the more unique by the fact that relics from this period of the past are relatively rare in the capital. The Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) are the perfect opportunity to conquer this relatively unknown Parisian monument!

A short and beautiful visit to the Tour Jean sans Peur by Ateepix (2022)
On September 21 and 22, 2024, come and discover the Tour Jean sans Peur, a medieval jewel in the heart of Paris, and the only vestige of the great palace of the Dukes of Burgundy.
Built for the Duke of Burgundy Jean sans Peur between 1409 and 1411, the tower bears the name of its patron, a powerful prince who wished to materialize in stone his seizure of power over the king. To this end, he had a very high tower built, served by a grand princely staircase, finished with a sculpted vault unique in France.
During these European Heritage Days, the Jean sans Peur Tower team will welcome you and give you all the keys you need to understand the monument!
Visits are free (with a contribution of €2.50 per person), with access to the whole tower and its permanent exhibition on history, architecture and daily life in the late Middle Ages, as well as to the exhibitions on the Saint Jacques Tower and the School in the Middle Ages (exhibitions extended until January 5, 2025).
Access limited to 1 hour and 40 people at a time throughout the monument, including the temporary exhibition rooms (Ecole au Moyen Âge, Tour Saint Jacques).
Permanent exhibition translated into English, tower presentation available in 12 languages (English, German, Italian, Spanish, Flemish, Greek, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Hungarian, Korean).
