Theater lovers and future stage stars, save the date! The Théâtre Mogador is opening its doors to us for the 40th edition of the Journées du Patrimoine, taking place this year on September 16 and 17, 2023. All day Saturday, September 16, the famous Parisian theater welcomes visitors of all ages, to reveal its secrets... A visit not to be missed!
The Théâtre Mogador was built in 1913, and inaugurated in 1919 in the presence of the American president of the time, Woodrow Wilson, and his successor, Franklin Delano Roosevelt . Inspired by the London Palladium music hall, the Parisian venue was one of the largest in the capital at the time.
Russian ballets, musicals, concerts, official ceremonies, operettas... The Théâtre Mogador has welcomed exceptional artists of worldwide renown, and quickly established itself as a key venue in the world of show business. It was here that the young Sting began his solo career!
Completely refurbished in 2006, the theater has been restored to its former glory, and now hosts a curious collection of contemporary art in addition to the various performances on offer. For the Journées du Patrimoine 2023, the Mogador invites visitors to discover what goes on behind the scenes of this legendary theater.
