Attention reading fans young and old! The Centre national du livre is exceptionally opening its doors for the new edition of the Journées du Patrimoine, on Saturday September 21, 2024. A public establishment of the French Ministry of Culture, the Centre is inviting Parisians, Ile-de-France residents and curious visitors of all ages to take part in free guided or self-guided tours.
The mission of the Centre National du Livre itself is to support all players in the book chain: authors, publishers, booksellers, librarians and organizers of literary events. In this way, the Centre plays an active role in promoting the French-speaking world.
Since January 1986, the Centre National du Livre has been housed in a superb private mansion, theHôtel d'Avejan, and also boasts a small private garden, which is a delight to explore in fine weather.
