The old communal cemetery

  • Tours of the ancient communal cemetery of Ivry-sur-Seine
    September 21 and 22

    A place of memory to discover, the ancient cemetery features chapels adorned with sculptures and stained-glass windows (19th-20th centuries). Highlights include the tomb of a Mamluk, the tomb of Léonard Sadi Carnot, the French physicist who invented thermodynamics, and the many funerary monuments to local historical figures. At the entrance, the war memorial lists the 1,800 Ivorian soldiers who died in the First World War.

L'Ancienne Brasserie Dumesnil

  • Tours of the former Brasserie Dumesnil facilities
    September 21 and 22

    Founded in Paris, the Dumesnil brewery moved to Ivry in 1956. During your visit, you'll discover the technical installations used to make beer (malting plant, fermentation and storage tanks), located in former limestone quarries. After a major labor movement, the brewery ceased all activity in the 1980s.
    The tour of this unusual site is led by the OCRA association, which specializes in underground development.





La Centrale Geotelluence

  • Discover the Ivry-sur-Seine geothermal power plant

    The Géotelluence plant supplies heat for the heating and hot water needs of subscribers to Ivry's district heating networks in the ZAC des Confluences, Centre-Ville and ZAC du Plateau areas. Heat is produced using geothermal energy and steam recovery, mainly from the incineration plant. As a result, over 78% of heat production comes from renewable or recovered energy sources.





L'Établissement de communication et de production audiovisuelle de la défense ECPAD

  • Tours of Fort d'Ivry
    September 21 and 22

    Accompanied by experts from the Établissement de communication et de production audiovisuelle de la Défense (ECPAD), visitors will discover the casemates of the Fort d'Ivry, where the exceptional photographic and audiovisual archive collections of the French Ministry of Defence are housed. They will attend demonstrations and workshops to learn more about the profession of the image soldier. They will also have the opportunity to meet documentalists and view extracts from archival films held at the facility. Two exhibitions, based on ECPAD's archives, will complete this discovery. There will also be a workshop for children aged 6 to 12. Finally, the film Grand large, haute tension, made for the French Navy, will be shown in the cinema.

Exposition en Plein Air

  • Open-air exhibition on the history of social housing in Ivry-sur-Seine
    September 20 - 22

    Discover the history of social housing in Ivry-sur-Seine with this exhibition from the municipal Archives-Heritage department. From the workers' housing estates built by philanthropic entrepreneurs to the housing estates built by the Office Public HLM d'Ivry-sur-Seine, social housing construction was at the heart of Ivry's development in the 20th century. Photographs, postcards, plans and testimonials highlight the history and heritage of social housing in Ivry-sur-Seine.
    Continue your visit to the Cabinet de curiosités of the Archives-Patrimoine department, located on the garden level of the town hall, with the exhibition Ivry-sur-Seine, métamorphoses d'une ville ,1800-1914.



Church of Saint-Pierre Saint-Paul

  • Visit the Saint-Pierre Saint-Paul church

    The town-center church, mentioned as early as the 12th century, is owned by the municipality and is a lively place of worship, as well as a showcase for our artistic and musical heritage. It contains numerous listed objects (paintings, woodwork, silverware, etc.) and modern stained-glass windows by the Mauméjean workshop. Discover the organ built in 1863 by organ builder Stoltz, fully restored in 2018.

Sainte Croix d'Ivry Port Church

  • Tours of the Sainte-Croix d'Ivry-Port church

    The Ivry-Port parish was founded in 1908. Several temporary chapels followed one another until a place of worship was built in a former garage at 41, rue de Seine (now rue Lénine). This church remained in existence until it was destroyed by fire in 2000. Architects Jean-Pol Hindré and Jean-Claude Riguet were commissioned by the Diocese of Créteil to build a new edifice. Its baptistery is a pot used by the Christian Madeleine Delbrêl (1904-1964) to make Spanish confectionery.

Charles Foix Hospital

    The Charles Foix Hospital is hosting an original exhibition on this exceptional architectural complex, built in the mid-19th century and listed as a historic monument in 1997. A guided tour and a concert complete the discovery of the site.

Le Credac Centre d'Art Contemporain

  • Art in a former factory

    Created in 1987, the Centre d'art contemporain d'Ivry - le Crédac moved in 2011 to the top floor of the "American" building of the Manufacture des Œillets, a jewel of Ivry-sur-Seine's industrial heritage. This brick, glass and steel building, constructed in 1913 on the American model of the Daylight Factory, is one of the earliest architectural examples of functionalism in France. Crédac presents an exhibition on the archives of three literary figures: Correspondances. Read Angela Davis, Audre Lorde and Toni Morrison. Studied by art historian Elvan Zabunyan, their political, philosophical, poetic and literary writings have long accompanied her research into contemporary African-American art. Drawing on this unique material, two classes from collèges Romain Rolland in Ivry-sur-Seine and Danielle Casanova in Vitry-sur-Seine took part in writing and creative workshops. Their productions are exhibited in dialogue with a selection of archives and works of art.

Fort d'Ivry

  • Guided tour of Fort d'Ivry sur Seine

    Accompanied by experts from the Établissement de communication et de production audiovisuelle de la Défense (ECPAD), visitors will discover the exceptional photographic and audiovisual archive collections of the French Ministry of the Armed Forces.
    During a two-hour guided tour, visitors will discover :

    The history of Fort d'Ivry.
    The fort's casemates, where the photographic and audiovisual archive collections are housed.
    Demonstrations and workshops at the Établissement publique's audiovisual production center.
    A presentation of the Ecole des métiers de l'image and participation in a quiz.

    At the end of the guided tour, visitors can take part in three free activities, accompanied in turn by the guides:

    The media library to discover the archives and databases, including a presentation of the ImagesDéfense platform.
    The photographic exhibition Morts pour la France
    The screening in the Abel Gance cinema of the documentary Grand Large, haute tension, and a presentation of the artists in residence at the Fort d'Ivry.

    The Town Hall boasts a beautifully sculpted facade illustrating the town's industrial past. The interior bears comparison: marble sculptures, painted Ivry landscapes and frescoes by Fernand Léger. On the garden level, discover the Cabinet de curiosités, a museographic space housed in a former World War II shelter, where the Archives-Heritage department presents the exhibition Ivry-sur-Seine, métamorphoses d'une ville ,1800-1914.

    On the roof of a building in the center of town, on a furnished terrace, the association Ne pas plier has installed an "Observatoire de la Ville" offering a panoramic view of Ivry and the surrounding area. From this vantage point overlooking the center of Ivry, everyone can learn to decipher the city's organization and physical and social history. The aim of this project is to make available to citizen-citizens urban knowledge to share, which the demands of everyday life don't always allow us to cultivate. Reading one's city means finding one's critical space, knowing how to take the right distance and understand the world in which we live.

Madeleine Delbrel's house

  • Discovering Madeleine Delbrêl's home
    September 20 - 22

    Madeleine Delbrêl, poet, social worker and Christian mystic, and her team-mates lived in this townhouse. In the porch, a fresco of photos and posters recalls the social context of the 1930s-1960s. You'll discover Madeleine Delbrêl's living room, and have access to a library of her writings. In the garden, you can discover photos and hear her voice. At the back of the garden, books containing her writings or works about her are on sale in the bookshop.

    - 6:30pm: Meet Michèle Rault for the presentation of her book Les missionnaires de l'ombre. Catholic women involved in the working-class and rural world. 1940-2000. In the 20th century, to bring the Church closer to the working-class and rural world, Catholic women chose to work in factories and in the countryside. Committed and determined, they sought recognition as lay women in the Church. This book reveals their lives and brings them out of the shadows.

Place Pierre Gosnat

  • Guided tour of Théâtre des quartiers d'Ivry

    Since 2016, following a complete renovation, the Théâtre des Quartiers d'Ivry has been based at the Manufacture des Œillets, a symbol of 20th-century working-class culture. A meeting place, with two performance halls: the Fabrique (397 seats) and the Lanterneau (99 seats), the room dedicated to the Atelier Théâtral and the Halle for the public and various events.
    A veritable factory dedicated to creation, this theater is a house of authors, in vibration with the world. It offers artist residencies, shows and artistic practices. Open to all, it is a link between territories, cultures and generations, with a local, national and international reach. Guided by a member of the TQI team, you'll discover the performance and rehearsal rooms, set and costume workshops, backstage areas and artists' dressing rooms... You'll leave with a few historical and architectural landmarks and plenty of anecdotes!
