Card games will soon have no secrets for you! For the 41st edition of the Journéesdu Patrimoine, the Musée de la Carte à Jouer invites you to discover its collections on Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22, 2024. This unusual museum has prepared some very special events for this cultural weekend.
For the record, the French Playing Card Museum opened its doors in 1981, and is housed in the entrance pavilion of the former Château des Princes de Conti. It is one of the few museums in the world devoted to the subject of playing cards. In all, over 7,000 decks of playing cards are on display here, along with engravings, drawings and other objects related to the world of card games...
Exhibitions, meetings, events, shows: the Musée de la Carte à Jouer hosts a wide range of events to showcase its collections, but also to help us discover the history of the town of Issy-les-Moulineaux.
Open house.
Meet some of the 23 Les Arches artists taking part in the "Je chante et la montagne danse" exhibition, designed by Sarah Nasla and Margot Rouas.
Conference on Queen Margot, by Didier Le Fur, historian, in partnership with Historim.
In September 1606, Marguerite de France, known as Queen Margot, settled in Issy, in a house with a garden, designed the park and had statues installed: Venuses, Muses, Amours in marble or stone, and built herself a nymphaeum, a grotto whose walls are covered with shells, preserved in its current state in the park of the Séminaire d'Issy. Before making her mark on literature (thanks to Alexandra Dumas), Henri IV's wife left her mark on the history of Issy and played a considerable political role.
Performed by Pascale, Gérard and Aurélien (accordion), in partnership with Historim.
