Heritage Days 2024 at the Orangerie du Domaine National de Meudon
Meudon, the muse of artists, welcomes them to its sites steeped in history, amidst trees, stones and under a vaulted ceiling that is constantly observed. Fertile ground for research, creation and meditation, the Meudon landscape has become for many artists a raw material as elusive as it is ideal. By exploring it, we offer a moment's pause, an opportunity to look up and pay attention to the fluctuations of the skies, and to the work of creators in a variety of media.
The À ciel ouvert project is proposed by Bruno Dunckel, painter and lover of the pictorial background of Meudon, a town open to all perspectives, between Paris, the sky and the Seine. The exhibition brings together eight artists, who have taken up the theme of the sky in all its many chromatic facets.
Guest of honor Jean Letourneur, sculptor and aerodynamics enthusiast, inscribes the movement of energy in the veins of marble.
Marie-Elise Larène, a wax artist, composes subtle, vibrant pastel clouds.
Rémi Chayé, animated film director, presents an original series of sketchbooks.
Bruno Dunckel, a letter carrier from Meudon, develops an oil painting infatuated with clouds, where color seems suspended.
Jérôme Mathien presents oxygen-injected photographs taken at high altitude from his cockpit.
Christophe Debelmas, a freedom-loving freelancer, unveils a series of photographs under the aegis of ether.
Marina Blondel, psychologist, harmonizes her serial shots of Meudon's skies.
Draughtsman Yann Raude reflects the architecture of the site and its nobility in his large-format inks.
The Orangerie's vast gallery, with its large windows opening onto the parterre, welcomes these enthusiasts of light and space, where their work gains full expression.
