On the occasion of the 41st Journées du Patrimoine, Citéco - la Cité de l'Économie opens its doors to the curious this Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22, 2024. This is your chance to discover the treasures housed in this amazing museum, in the heart of the Hôtel Gaillard!

Everything you always wanted to know about theeconomy, but were afraid to ask? It's possible, thanks to the Journées du Patrimoine in Paris. Citéco - la Cité de l'Économie welcomesus on Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22, 2024 for free tours of the Parisian museum of economics.

Opening in June 2019 after nine years of construction, the Cité de l'économie is Europe's first museum dedicated to the economy. Citéco is housed in theHôtel Gaillard, a neo-Renaissance building dating from the late 19th century and well worth a visit. From 1922 to 2006, it served as a branch of the Banque de France.

The Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days ) are the perfect opportunity to discover this amazing Parisian landmark. And it's worth noting that, during this cultural event, Paris and the whole of the Île-de-France region get down to the nitty-gritty, much to the delight of the curious and the passionate! For this 41st edition, numerous guided tours and events await you throughout the Île-de-France region, including in places usually closed to the public.   • Visit the Hôtel Gaillard, a château in the heart of Paris

    The Cité de l'Économie opened its doors in 2019 in the heart of the Hôtel Gaillard, a stone's throw from the Parc Monceau. This economics museum, the only one of its kind in Europe, aims to make economics accessible to all. Through fun and interactive features, young and old alike can learn while having fun! The Cité de l'Économie is also a neo-Renaissance masterpiece, listed as a historic monument. Take advantage of the European Heritage Days to discover, free of charge, the exceptional history of this place and its transformations over time: first a private mansion belonging to banker Emile Gaillard in the 19th century, then a branch of the Banque de France with its vault and great hall, and finally a museum! The Cité de l'Économie's mediators will be on hand throughout the weekend to offer flash mediation sessions. To extend your visiting experience, you can take advantage of the café-restaurant area and the boutique-bookshop.
