For the Journées du Patrimoine 2024, the Musée Eugène Delacroix invites you to plunge into the world of the famous painter. A true place of life, its bucolic setting is sure to charm any visitor who passes through its doors. This weekend, September 21 and 22, 2024, take advantage of the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days ) to discover this place, its history and its treasures.
Located in the former apartments and studios of Eugène Delacroix, this museum was born of the determination of several leading painters of the 1920s. Maurice Denis, Paul Signac, Édouard Vuillard and Ker-Xavier Roussel, to name but a few, wished to create a place of homage to this painter who aroused their admiration. And so,Eugène Delacroix 's former home became a museum in his honor.
At this " studio-museum " in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, immerse yourself in the artist's intimate work, through a collection of Delacroix 's paintings, frescoes, lithographs and drawings, as well as objects brought back by the painter from his trip to the Orient, and works by artists contemporary with Delacroix.
Come and discover, free of charge, the new presentation of the collections "Nu comme habillé: Delacroix et le vêtement" (Nude as dressed: Delacroix and clothing) until 7.30pm.
The museum staff, all as passionate as they are fascinating, welcome you throughout the weekend to talk about Delacroix, the arts and the history of the museum, the last place where the Romantic painter lived and created.
Come and discover the new presentation of the collections "Nu comme habillé. Delacroix et le vêtement" until 7:30 p.m.
Readings inspired by Delacroix's Diary and his correspondence, on the theme of clothing, are offered by Josiane Asmane on Sunday, September 22 at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.
