On Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22, 2024, the European Heritage Days open for another not-to-be-missed edition! From must-see tours of Parisian institutions to unusual, fun and educational sites... Discover the capital as you've never seen it before, and enter the studios of Parisian artists such as Claude de Soria, in the Montparnasse district.

Every September is different: the end of the vacations, the start of the new school year, the arrival of rain andautumn, falling temperatures... And yet, if there's one thing we never tire of in September, it's the Journées du Patrimoine, which return every year in mid-September.

So, on Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22, 2024, join us in Paris and throughout the Île-de-France region to discover the most beautiful churches, some of our most powerful places, the great Parisian institutions, the secret places of the capital... Or visit artists' studios, which are opening their doors exclusively for the Journées du Patrimoine 2024.

In the 14th arrondissement, theClaude de Soria studio bears the name of the sculptress who owned it. After studying under famous artists such as Fernand Léger (painting) and Ossip Zadkine (sculpture), Claude de Soria specialized in abstract sculpture. Her studio in the 14th arrondissement opened to the public for the first time in 2022 after extensive renovations: since then, you can also discover it during the Journées du Patrimoine and learn more about the many works Claude de Soria left behind, in the studio where she created on a daily basis.

The program for Heritage Days 2024 at Atelier Claude de Soria:

  • Guided tour of Atelier Claude de Soria
    September 21 and 22

Located in the heart of the Montparnasse district of Paris, the studio of sculptor Claude de Soria (1926-2015) opens its doors to you. Just a stone's throw from the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, where she studied with André Lhote, and close to the Musée Zadkine and the studio of Fernand Léger, three of the artist's masters, the Atelier Claude de Soria offers visitors a new way of approaching and discovering a body of work, mainly devoted to cement.
After reserving your private tour slot, you will be welcomed by a mediator into the studio where the artist created most of her work. You can choose to look at one of the 2,000 unique pieces, consult drawings and original works, and browse the documentation compiled by the artist, as well as his "imaginary museum".
The studio is an exhibition space, a library of art books built up over time, and a temporary residence for writers, scriptwriters and researchers.
