The long-awaited Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days ) are back for another edition on September 21 and 22, 2024! It's the perfect opportunity for history and culture enthusiasts to discover or rediscover the hidden treasures of our beautiful France. During this exceptional weekend, numerous sites, often closed to the public, open their doors to the delight of the curious. It's an invitation to travel back in time!

Vauréal, a charming commune in the Val-d'Oise region, is not to be outdone. With a rich history dating back to prehistoric times, the town has witnessed the passing of Celts, Romans and Merovingians.     Porcelain painting is a world of its own, made up of poetry and delicacy.
    Patience and meticulousness are the two main qualities required for this ancestral art.
    From my studio at the Cour des Arts in Vauréal, I create my own decors inspired by nature.
    Each one is hand-painted mainly on white Limoges porcelain.

    When science and patience bring family heirlooms, objets d'art and archaeological finds back to life.
    To mark the Journées du Patrimoine 2024, the Atelier En Mille Morceaux invites you to the Cour des Arts in Vauréal to discover an unusual profession: Médecin des Objets, a.k.a. ceramics and glass restorer.
    On the program: presentation of the restorer's trade, his role in archaeological missions and his mission to pass on history.
    Indeed, the En Mille Morceaux workshop works both for private individuals and in partnership with the CNRS, the Ecole Biblique et Archéologique Française de Jérusalem, the town of Cergy, the National Museum of Qatar...
    Come and discover what's going on on the other side of the mirror of history!
    In addition, we'll be offering a free introduction to reassembling ceramics. Come and try your hand at the 3D puzzle!
    The doors of the En Mille Morceaux workshop won't be the only ones open at the Cour des Arts. You'll discover 10 Cour des Arts artisans and artists, as well as 10 exceptional guests, focused for the JEP 2024 on the theme Patrimoine des Itinéraires, des Réseaux et des Connexions (Heritage of Routes, Networks and Connections).

This free trail will allow everyone (young and old) to explore the streets in search of clues left by Vauréal's past. A convivial snack at around 5 p.m. will crown this afternoon of fun and games. Event organized by the Trois tilleuls de Vauréal association.
