The Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) is theunmissable cultural event that punctuates the month of September in Paris and Île-de-France, much to the delight of art and history enthusiasts, as well as those curious enough to make some wonderful discoveries. Over the course of an exceptional weekend, local residents and tourists alike are invited to explore our heritage in a whole new light, through a fabulous program of visits, events and workshops, generally free of charge, in the heart of our most beautiful treasures. Every year, a wide range of venues take part: museums, monuments, châteaux, of course, as well as places that open their doors to us exceptionally, including ministries, embassies and even hospitals.
If you're hungry for those hidden nuggets that can only be discovered during the Journées du Patrimoine, then here's a plan you'll find hard to resist! For this 40th edition, scheduled for the weekend of September 21 and 22, 2024, Paris is exceptionally opening the doors of the city's Direction des Affaires Culturelles reserves to us to discover its treasures. Here's the program!
The mission of the Pôle archéologique of the Département d'Histoire de l'Architecture et d'Archéologie de Paris (DHAAP) is to inventory, study, conserve and promote the archaeological heritage.
In 2021, its reserves have been moved to a new site, near the Porte de la Chapelle (18th arrondissement). The reserves will be exceptionally open for the JEP.
