For European Heritage Days 2021, the Grand Palais makes us a surprise! Despite being closed, the magnificent building provides us with a fun and free activity for children and adults on September 18 and 19, 2021.
Created for the huge and impressive 1900 World’s Fair in Paris, the Grand Palais is a whole lot along with the Petit Palais and the Pont Alexandre III. At that time, it was impossible to link the Champs-Elysées to the Invalides.
The idea was groundbreaking, but the architecture contest isn’t conclusive… Not a single architect can take up the challenge alone, it’s then said that Henri Deglane will take care of the Grand Palais main part, Albert Louvet will create the intermediary part and the Petit Palais part will be given to Albert Thomas…
The monument is temporarily closed for renovations but keeps living to the pace of the Parisian life.
Proof of it: for European Heritage Days, a very special game expects us. Come around the Grand Palais. With your smartphone, you have to walk around the building, closely look at it and solve enigmas and be brave enough to save the Grand Palais from destruction!
Take part in the smartphone style escape game called "Les fantômes de Malraux 1962". For one hour, enjoy the investigation mixing history and fun.
An urban project threatens the Grand Palais from being destroyed. Minister of Culture André Malraux wants to keep it, but he is on his own. Will players help him save the monument? Escape room fans will have one hour, on European Heritage Days, to revisit history in a very serious way while having fun, discovering some of the best-kept secrets of the Grand Palais and solve incredible enigmas. Sign up for free online to be part of it.
And you can also enjoy another eventful game at the Grand Palais Ephémère held for these very European Heritage Days.
