The Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine awaits you for the Journées du Patrimoine 2024, with a gigantic program for the whole family on September 21 and 22.

For the Journées du Patrimoine 2024, the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine has put together a fabulous program for the whole family. Head for the 16th arrondissement on Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22! And best of all, it's free!

Since 2007, the Cité de l' Architecture has been showcasing a fine collection of models, plans of fortified towns, pieces of forgotten buildings and stained glass windows; and the monument itself, a vestige of the museum of comparative sculpture opened in 1882, is a sight to behold.

Among the highlights of the collection are the painted ceiling of the 14th-century dome of Cahors Cathedral, a model of Notre-Dame de Paris, a full-scale reconstruction of one of the housing units in the Cité radieuse built by Le Corbusier in Marseilles in 1952, and a model of the Gare du Nord railway station.

  • The book that wanted to be an architect
    September 21 and 22

    Follow the adventures of a book like no other! In order to become an architect, P'tit Bouquin will have to travel the world of models: many encounters, a touch of fantasy and, above all, the help of his fellow travelers will help him fulfill his dream.
    During this storytelling visit, you will discover and handle the Basic Space model book, imagined by artist and architect Fanny Millard and published by EXTRA.
    For ages 3 to 6. Adult supervision required.



  • Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe, the "Romanesque Sistine Chapel

    A unique opportunity to discover the mural paintings on the vault of the so-called Romanesque Sistine Chapel! Now on display in the Cité's library, the volume copy of the Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe vault gives you a close-up view of these dynamic, flowing figures, in the ochre colors and pastel tones so characteristic of Romanesque mural painting in central France.

  • Auguste Perret's life in Paris

    In 2024, we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of one of the most emblematic concrete architects, Auguste Perret.
    To mark the occasion, in partnership with the Conseil Économique Social et Environnemental (CESE), we're offering you a cross-disciplinary architectural walk. Accompanied by a mediator from each institution, discover some models of Auguste Perret's Parisian achievements, including the model of this exceptional palace in the Cité's collections, then return to the building for a life-size tour of the interiors of this resolutely modern 1936 monument.
    This visit to the Palais d'Iéna will also be an opportunity to discover the exhibition by artist Teuthis dedicated to Auguste Perret.
