As part of the 41st Heritage Days, the Musée des arts et métiers is offering free tours and events focusing on the world's great inventions, for young and old alike. Join us on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22, 2024, to enjoy the program of this new edition of a not-to-be-missed cultural event.
The permanent collection at the Musée des arts et métiers is a big hit with children, because it takes them on a journey through time to discover some of the greatest inventions and techniques in the history of science: scientific instruments, materials, construction, communication, energy, mechanics and transport - thousands ofobjects that revolutionized their era are on display in a beautiful building.
In all, the tour is divided into seven collections (scientific instruments, materials, construction, communication, energy, and mechanics and transport), subdivided into four chronological periods (before 1750, 1750-1850, 1850-1950 and after 1950). Curious visitors can also discover Lavoisier's laboratory, Foucault's pendulum and the automaton theater.
Short format "Ça vole" (4-6 years old, family)

For the European Heritage Days, discover our special program of alternating "Flash Visits" and "Demonstrations" throughout the day! Come and stroll through the museum, and let our mediators surprise you with nuggets from our collections, must-see objects or current favorites. At the same time, watch short, interactive demonstrations that bring the inventions back to life, allowing you to grasp the inventive genius of these mechanical treasures.
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, take part in the construction of a collective model using recycled materials! Join us in the Fabricators space to imagine our city of tomorrow, its streets, its transport, its homes...
Meet us on the 2nd floor of the museum after the Materials collection.
