Art and history lovers are invited to the Musée Cognacq-Jay for the 41st edition of the Journées du Patrimoine on Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22, 2024. The museum features a rich collection of sculptures, furniture, paintings and other works of art assembled between 1900 and 1925 by Samaritaine founder Ernest Cognacq and his wife Marie-Louise Jay.
This major cultural event is an opportunity to admire not only theHôtel de Donon, which houses the museum, but also the many paintings, sculptures, drawings and precious objects collected by Ernest Cognacq, founder of the Samaritaine department stores. A great lover of18th-century art, the wealthy businessman now allows us to contemplate all that made up the spirit of the French Enlightenment.
The Musée Cognacq-Jay invites you to discover its exceptional collections. This museum, often overlooked by the general public, also surprises us with an unusual artistic program, not to be missed! Take advantage of the JEP 2024 to discover one of the treasures of the Marais district and the City of Paris.
Metal and Light
On the occasion of JEMA and JEP, the Musée Cognacq-Jay will be highlighting two age-old skills featured in the exhibition: chasing and engraving.
Visitors can take advantage of free demonstrations by students from the Ecole Boulle, offering a cross-section of 18th-century creations and their contemporary heirs.
September 21 and 22, 2024
Free admission for exhibition ticket holders (€9 for public admission, €7 for public transport).
