As parking of motorized two-wheelers (bikes and scooters) become charged starting from September 1, 2022, in Paris, those who want to go for an electric alternative have everything to gain! As a matter of fact, upon conditions, this kind of vehicle enjoys free parking.
Low-carbon parking right allows eligible vehicles to park for free on surface in Paris.
Which vehicles does it apply to?
Electric vehicles, hydrogen vehicles, or vehicles using natural gas and rechargeable hybrids, as well as motorized electric 2-wheelers can pretend to the “low-carbon” offer.
What the different types of rights?
- Residing LCE (low-carbon emission) car: it is automatically created when applying for residing parking right.
- Visitor LCE: to enjoy it, you have to have made your vehicle referenced (see how below) ahead of time.
- Professional LCE: it is automatically created when applying for professional parking right.
Maximal parking time allowed apply depending on the profile (residing, visitor or professional). In the event of a control, you have to place a parking disc (light vehicle) or a ticket delivered on mobile applications (electric motorized 2-wheelers).

How to apply as a visitor LCE?
By letter or upon appointment at the Section du Stationnement sur Voie Publique desk, 22 rue du Château des Rentiers, 75013 Paris. Written proofs requested: copy of the vehicle registration certificate, and in the event of a second-hand vehicle, the vehicle registration certificate to the name of the rental company and the rental contract to the name of the right seeker.
As for cars registered abroad, you can only apply by letter (the category of the car and the CO2 level must appear on the vehicle registration certificate).
