In Paris, parking for motorcycles is charged from the end of summer. Since Monday June 27, 2022, a platform is live to allow users to subscribe to a resident package or enjoy free fees for electric vehicles. Here is what you need to know about this new measure.

In Paris, free parking for motorcycles will end very soon! From the end of summer motorcycles will have to pay to park in the capital city. A measure coming into effect from September 1, 2022. At the end of summer, drivers will have to adapt! And for the moment, they are quite unhappy with their adaptation, according to the many demonstrations carried out in the city.

But, how will it happen, then? First, as for the parking areas, the Paris authorities said motorcycles must park on the 42,000 spots available, or on pay zones shared with cars. Leaving your scooter on the sidewalk or on a bicycle parking is out of question or be subject to parking ticket or impound.

What about rates? They are to change depending on arrondissements:

For the residential package, allow €22.5 for 1 year and €45 for 3 years. Then, you will have to pay the parking usage fee costing €0.75 per day and €4.5 per week.

Last but not least, the FPS (or Forfait Post-Stationnement – or Post-Parking Package) applied in the event of non-payment of your parking spot amounts to €37.5 in zone 1 (from 1st to 11th arrondissement), and €25 for zone 2 (from 12th to 20th arrondissement), as well as in the woods.
