Liberal doctors will be relieved to see their consultation fees increasenext fall. Indeed, the "arbitration regulation" presented this Monday, April 24, 2023 to the unions of liberal doctors provides for an increase of € 1.50 for medical consultations, bringing the minimum rate for general practitioners to € 26.50 and € 31.50 for specialists.
This decision, which still needs to be approved by the Minister of Health, François Braun, should come into effect at the end of October 2023 at the earliest. This general increase had been proposed earlier this year by the Sécu at a cost of €600 million in a full year.
In addition, financial aid for the recruitment of medical assistants will also be "extended and made more flexible" in order to "free up medical time". This measure should help achieve the goal set by Emmanuel Macron of 10,000 positions by the end of 2024.
The head of state also promised the creation of a new €60 consultation for the acceptance of a chronic patient without a primary care physician. People in this situation will be "offered a general practitioner before the end of the year".
These measures aim to improve access to care for patients while allowing doctors to better manage their time and workload.
