Plastic, the scourge of the century, is never far from the streets of Paris. Cans, plastic bags, bottles and so much other garbage can be found everywhere, adding to air and metro pollution . As Paris hosts negotiations for a future global treaty on plastic this week, May 29, 2023, weather reports will be offered to raise awareness of this plastic pollution, for 7 days.

This one-off operation, initiated by the Australian Minderoo Foundation, is a welcome change from the Météo France bulletins. According to scientists, between 40 and 48 kg of plastic will fall on the capital every day of the week, despitebright sunshine and pleasant temperatures. Of course, we're not talking about falling water bottles, but billions of microplastic particles remain in the air, posing a risk to our health.
You can find these weather reports on the Plasticforecast. com website and on public transport throughout the week, starting on Monday. 175 nations must conclude a legally binding treaty by 2024, or risk seeing annual plastic production triple by 2060, according to the OECD.
