After a gloomy month of May, the last week brought back the sunshine to Parisians, with pleasant temperatures and the sun at its zenith. And now, at the start of June, we're continuing in the same vein, with an even higher mercury, enough to bring summer to Paris ahead of schedule! According to Météo France, over 30 degrees are expected in the capital at the end of the week, particularly on Thursday 8th and Friday 9th. Plenty of time for sunbathing in Paris parks and gardens, and testing out the new terraces!
After last year's heatwave, May seemed a cool month, but we may soon be missing the coolness. With the return of El Niño in the summer, heatwaves and droughts could be even more intense than last year, which was already a record. This Saturday, we're enjoying ideal temperatures of around 25 degrees throughout the Paris region. On Sunday, the temperature rises again, reaching 28 degrees for the rest of the week, and 31 degrees next Friday and Saturday!
And according to Météo France's 15-day forecast, it's not going to stop any time soon, with not a hint of rain on the horizon! What's more, the capital has reached a streak of 21 days without precipitation, something that hasn't happened since 1949. With the mercury unlikely to drop any time soon, we're going to have to find ways to cool off, and why not take a dip in one of the Ile-de-France's leisure centres?
