Bad news for public transport users in the Paris region. A strike by railway workers is scheduled for Tuesday, October 1, 2024. The consequences? Traffic is expected to be "disrupted on certain Transilien lines". Discover the detailed traffic forecasts.

If you're planning to take the RER or a Transilien train this Tuesday, October 1, 2024, then you'll need to plan ahead. Due to an industrial action at SNCF, slight disruptions are expected on the Transilien network. " Traffic disrupted on certain Transilien lines " this Tuesday, October 1, says the SNCF on the Transilien website. The nationwide strike is expected to affect traffic on several Transilien lines, namely lines J, L and N.

This strike by SNCF railway workers, called by the Sud-Rail and CGT unions, will also affect the RER network in Paris and the Île-de-France region. Some disruption is expected on the RER D and E lines.

This social movement is linked to the demonstrations organized on October 1: cross-industry unions are calling for higher wages, improved public services and the repeal of pension reform.

So what exactly can we expect this Tuesday? No black day is in store for public transport: the strike call is not expected to be widely followed, according to the unions. However, the traffic forecasts posted on Monday September 30 at 5 p.m. still point to some inconveniences.

The Transilien lines affected by the strike are J, L and N. For lines J and L, the organizations are simply announcing slightly disrupted traffic, while line N should only have 3 trains out of 4 during the day. The Transilien website nevertheless recommends that you limit your travel during this day of disruption.

RER users, watch out for trains on lines D and E. For line D, the SNCF website indicates " disrupted traffic on the entire line: expect 2 trains out of 3 on average. " Line E announces slow traffic for Tuesday.

The RATP has also called a strike for October 1, 2024, but no traffic forecasts have been issued at the time of writing.
