Linking the capital to various railway stations in the Hautes-Alpes département (05), the night Intercités line will be disrupted throughout the winter of 2025: we take stock of the closure dates.

Fall asleep in Paris and wake up in the heart of the mountains: this is the concept behind the night train service linking Paris to Briançon, with stops planned at several stations in the Hautes-Alpes region (Gap, l'Argentière-la-Bessée, etc.). Already somewhat disparaged by its regular users, who lament the many delays on the line, traffic on this line will be disrupted again in January, February and March 2025, due to construction work.

Operating on weekends only (including Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday evenings) or every day during school vacations, the night train line linking Paris to Briançon (or Briançon to Paris in the other direction) is particularly popular with Parisians looking for a weekend in the mountains , or with residents of the Hautes-Alpes who want to get to the capital in the shortest possible time. In January, February and March 2025, the line will be disrupted by work carried out by SNCF in the Drôme region, according to Alpes 1 Mag, making it impossible to branch off to reach all the stations normally served.

Closure dates for the Paris-Briançon line:

  • Saturday January 11th
  • Monday 27, Tuesday 28, Wednesday 29, Thursday 30 January
  • Saturday 1st, Monday 3rd, Tuesday 4th, Wednesday 5th, Thursday 6th, Saturday 8th February
  • Friday 7, Saturday 8, Sunday 9, Monday 10, Tuesday 11, Wednesday 12, Thursday 13 March
  • Saturday 15, Sunday 16, Monday 17, Tuesday 18, Wednesday 19, Thursday 20 March
  • Saturday 22, Sunday 23, Monday 24, Tuesday 25, Wednesday 26, Thursday 27, Saturday 29, Monday 31 March

To compensate for the lack of night trains during this period, SNCF will be providing replacement coaches: a less comfortable option, but one that can be of great help to outdoor enthusiasts in need of a mountain break!
