Nuit des Musées returns to seduce culture-hungry night owls on Saturday, May 18, 2024. In Paris and Île-de-France, this extraordinary free evening invites you to explore the region's finest museums and must-see institutions under the cloak of night. Stroll through the galleries, vibrate to the rhythm of live performances, meet artists and join creative workshops organized for the occasion, all in an exceptional festive atmosphere!
But the Nuit des Musées is not confined to the capital... This 2024 edition promises cultural nuggets to be discovered in the most unsuspected corners of the region. Like Bougival, a charming town in the Yvelines region (78), home to the Villa Viardot, the 19th-century residence of the famous singer and composer Pauline Viardot. This beautiful residence was a vibrant cultural hub, attracting eminent artists, writers and musicians such as George Sand, Ivan Tourgueniev and Frédéric Chopin. The villa's musical and literary salons were legendary, providing fertile ground for intellectual and artistic exchange. Today, the Villa Viardot is a preserved historic site, whose rich heritage shines on the European cultural landscape.
