On Saturday June 17 and Wednesday June 21, we'll be celebrating the Fête de la Musique on the voie Georges-Pompidou! The program features a variety of DJs and musical styles, to get the public up and dancing in a festive atmosphere. In terms of history, the Fête de la Musique originated in France: launched in 1982 by the French Minister of Culture, Jack Lang, its aim is to promote music in all its forms! Every year on June 21, the summer solstice, streets, squares and public spaces are transformed into open stages where musicians and music lovers gather to share their passion and offer live performances. The Fête de la Musique has quickly conquered the whole world, becoming an international celebration of musical diversity and artistic expression, bringing together millions of people who rejoice together, creating a veritable human symphony!
During these two days, voie Georges-Pompidou is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in an electric, summery atmosphere! Latin music, reggaeton or even electronic music, a variety of shows are planned to ensure a convivial experience. The voie Georges-Pompidou, closed to traffic since 2017 between theentrance to the Tuileries tunnel and the exit from the Henri IV tunnel, traces a route along the Seine. It is one of Paris' s most emblematic thoroughfares, offering breathtaking views of some of the city's most famous monuments, such asthe Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and Notre-Dame Cathedral. Named after former French president Georges Pompidou, the avenue is a popular strolling destination for Parisians and visitors alike. Lined with trees, parks and landscaped quays, it's an ideal place for strolling or cycling!
So on Saturday June 17 and Wednesday June 21, we're off to Georges-Pompidou avenue to celebrate the music!
