On Saturday October 2, 2021, Paris Musée des Arts et Métiers welcomes the latest White Night, or Nuit Blanche. On the occasion, composer Bastien David and the Compagnie Les Insectes will perform an exclusive concert of Metallophone.

If you are interested in uncommon experiences, then on Saturday October 2, 2021, you better head to Paris musée des Arts et Métiers for the latest edition of the White Night. The famous museum, set in the 3rd arrondissement opens to composer and former Villa Medicis resident Bastien David accompanied by the Compagnie Les insectes. Together, they will provide the audience with an exclusive concert of Metallophone. But what is it? Metallophone is a single row of metal bars suspended over a resonator box. On October 2, for the White Night, the metallophone will be played by six drummers: Adelaide Ferrière, Corentin Mariller, Elisa Humanes, François Vallet, Ya-hui Liang and Maxime Echardour. Around the Foucault’s Pendulum, the latter will drum on the 216 iron plates of this original instrument.

In all, five 15-minute-long performances will be provided for free between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. (at 8 p.m., 9 p.m., 10 p.m., 11 p.m. and midnight). And to live a sound and acoustic immersive experience, the audience can also discover pictures of places where the metallophone has travelled to.

For the record, composer Bastien David currently works on the creation of the first piece for metallophone that will be played in 2022 at the Radio France auditorium.

To get a preview of this creation, meet on October 2, 2021 at the Musée des Arts et Métiers for the latest White Night!
