Nuit Blanche 2024 in Cachan (94): an artistic gateway to the French islands in Parc Raspail

It's an exceptional moment when art takes to the streets of Paris: the Nuit Blanche returns for its 2024 edition. An entire night dedicated to the discovery of artistic works that transform the city into an open-air museum. From light performances to sound installations, from interactive works to technological creations and exhibitions, Nuit Blanche offers everyone the chance to discover talented contemporary artists in a unique urban context.

Cachan' sParc Raspail , rich in history and heritage, is preparing to welcome the curious and lovers of contemporary art this Saturday, June 1, 2024, for another edition of this major cultural event. This verdant park, once home to such notable figures as architect Germain Boffrand and banker Artaud, will be transformed into an extraordinary art scene for this Nuit Blanche.

Since 2002, the Nuit Blanche has been making the headlines in Paris, with increasingly zany, unusual and surprising events. Every year, the event showcases contemporary artists from France and abroad. For one evening, Paris is transformed into a gigantic museum, much to the delight of visitors. But you don't have to go all the way to the center of the capital to enjoy these events: the 94 region is also part of the party!

  Parc Raspail Cachan (Val de Marne, 94)
  • La Réunion: live tour of the Lieu d'Art Contemporain, built in 1980 by artist Vincent Mengin-Lecreulx and his wife Roselyne on a large plot of land overlooking the Indian Ocean. Over a period of forty years, they created a residency for some fifty artists, some of international renown, and installed several monumental works, including the Palais 7 portes.
  • Martinique: born in Paris in 1956, visual artist Raymond Médélice favors abstraction and installations. Without ever ruling out narrative figuration, he develops a definite taste for dramaturgy and questions the space of representation and the construction of narrative. While he uses acrylics, pure oil sticks and Indian ink, and sometimes works with monotypes on supports such as paper, canvas and cardboard, he favors the use of knives to create canvases.
  • Guadeloupe: from a prosaic Guadeloupe rich in diverse ancestry, Chantaléa Commin is an artist of international renown. Her constantly renewed hybrid creations - paintings, videos and installations - reveal a world where not all stories have been told, where the intimate and the collective intersect, depicting intimate, social and environmental mutations.
