Every year, the Centre culturel irlandais (CCI) in Paris celebrates Saint Patrick's Day, usually celebrated on March 17. For this 2024 edition, the Irish Cultural Centre is offering a new series of events to be experienced from Thursday March 7 to Monday March 18, 2024 , for the new edition of its St. Patrick's Day festival.
As you've no doubt noticed, the Centre Culturel Irlandais is pulling out all the stops for the return of St. Patrick's Day to Paris, celebrating Ireland's national holiday for ten days. For the occasion, traditional music takes center stage with no less than four concerts ( 3 paying and one free).
On March 14, the Inishowen Traditional Singers' Circle perform at the CCI. The following day, a string quartet, the West Ocean String Quartet, will perform their latest opus,"Atlantic Edge". And don't miss the young trio The Weaving for a ticketed concert on March 16, followed by a free concert in the courtyard of the Irish Cultural Centre on Sunday March 17 at 1pm, St. Patrick's Day. That day will be all about family fun.
But the Saint Patrick's Day 2024 festival at the Centre culturel irlandais is also putting the 7th art at the heart of its programming, with the screening of two not-to-be-missed films at the Les 3 Luxembourg cinema, including"Nothing Compares", a documentary about Sinéad O'Connor. Two other films will be shown at the CCI, including"Around My Island", a tribute to sailor Tom Dolan, nicknamed the " Flying Irishman ".
The St. Patrick' s Day festival will also featureart, with an exhibition on Gaelic sports, in the run-up to the Paris Olympics, and another unveiling a selection of photographs from the bestsellers"Old Ireland in Colour". And don't forget the theater, with the fabulous stories of Niall de Búrca on March 17.
